Dear Family and people I am friends with,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! These past two weeks have been so much fun! On Christmas we opened presents with the Chessmore's and their kids and had a blast! Their kids are so adorable! It felt so cool to wake up and know that it was my first mission Christmas! I got to Skype my family which was amazing!! I love them so much:) That night we were able to eat a big dinner with the Stacy's and the Gunkel's in our ward and we had a great time there as well. Haha they are so goofy. On New Year's Eve we were able to go to the Humphrey's house for a party and we played Just Dance! Haha it was so much fun!! We got home at about 9:30 and we played board games and drank Martnelli's with Bro. and Sis. Chessmore and his brother who was visiting. What a blast! Im so grateful to have grown close with them:) We have taught a mother and her daughter the first three missionary lessons out of Preach My Gospel and i think they will get baptized! They are friends with the Stacy's. We have now gone ice-fishing and spearing with members a few times and it's pretty cool! Every day there are a bunch of little fishing houses out on all the lakes around here! Last Monday we went and i caught two decent size Walleye's! I was pretty darn excited because I had never caught a fish before! We would have had three investigator's yesterday at church but unfortunately it was about -18 degrees all day so a lot of members didn't even show up:/ This past Saturday we were ushers at Bro. Meneely's funeral:( He was the oldest person in our ward and I sure enjoyed spending time with him and his wife. He was a great man and boy was he funny! He was diagnosed with late stages of Alzheimer's before he died so it was probably fortunate for him to die. I ate dinner at his house my first night in Cass Lake and I sure will miss him! We also had transfer calls on Saturday and we were expecting Elder Wendell and Sister Springer to be tranferred. Turns out we were correct! Elder Wendell is going to Casper, Wyoming, and is going to serve with one of my MTC roommates Elder Hubbard! Elder Hubbard's companion Elder Beazer is coming to Cass Lake! He's from Syracuse, Utah, and has been out for a little over a year I think. I was hoping I could train a new missionary, but there are only nine new Elders coming out so I didn't have much of a chance. But I'm very excited for Elder Beazer and we will be going to Fargo tomorrow to pick him up and drop off Elder Wendell. I'll miss you Elder Wendell!
